Passenger Faking Heart Attack Forces Delta Air Lines Flight to Divert
A Delta Air Lines flight from New York to Tel Aviv was forced to divert to Ireland after a deported passenger reported a heart attack while in flight. The incident occurred aboard an Airbus A330.
While cruising over Irish airspace, the passenger claimed to be experiencing a severe medical emergency. Treating the situation as a genuine in-flight medical emergency, the cabin crew and flight crew declared an emergency and diverted the aircraft to Dublin. Upon landing, medical teams attended to the passenger and transported them to a local hospital.
Authorities later confirmed that the passenger was an Israeli national being deported for illegal entry into the United States. The individual is wanted in Israel on multiple charges, including fraud and document forgery, and is listed on an Interpol Red Notice. Following the aircraft’s diversion to Dublin, Irish police intervened and initiated legal proceedings against the passenger.
